Guisadong Chayote is an easy vegetable dish to make, if you’re good at peeling and deveining shrimp, which is the most complicated part of the recipe. But don’t let that discourage you. Chayote has lots of vitamins and minerals, like Vitamin C, Manganese and Zinc.
I enjoyed the balance between vegetables and meats in this dish. The recipe I followed required a quarter pound of pork butt and a quarter pound of shrimp, which worked well against the pound of chayote. My chayote ended up a little spicy, but that’s okay. Ang sarap!
