My mother and my Lola made Mechado (Braised Flank Steak) quite often while I was growing up, so I was really excited to make this dish. Now that I’ve made Menudo and Mechado, I know the difference between the two! I couldn’t tell for the longest time because when you’re hungry, you’re just glad to see food on the table!
On a related note, I can’t believe how much tomato sauce goes into our food. I would have never guessed, but I love it!
