If you like bangus and you have someone in the kitchen to help you, then consider making Rellenong Bangus, stuffed milkfish! This recipe includes a lot of vegetables and my personal favorite, you don’t have to fry this fish! So healthy!
I made this dish on my own, and I preferred to have another person around to help me because the fish needs to be closed before it is baked in the oven. I tried to tie the fish closed with kitchen twine, but that didn’t work, so I ended up using a traditional needle and thread. Crafty, right?
Get the biggest milkfish possible! I know, they aren’t very large. I ended up buying a frozen fish because I didn’t want to gut and clean the fish. And consider using less vegetables, due to the small size of the fish. Check out my video, below, for ingredients, and to see how my effort turned out!
I really enjoy making a new Filipino dish each week–so I can learn how to cook, and so I can get closer to my Filipino culture–so please let me know what dish I should make next. Send me a tweet: @gerrardpanahon.
